At 36 I was older than most other initiates were when they met Her. I had always thought of myself as fairly grounded in the world, but looking back I realize that is definitely not true. She was so beautiful that I might have actually gasped that first time I met Her. Long blonde hair, tall, and thin, with the bluest blue eyes I had ever seen – deep and mysterious. I am still to this day not sure how I got so lucky to find Her. She said it was destiny – that all living Masters know their disciples. Well, She never called Herself a Living Master, and I wouldn’t have really known what it meant that hot July day anyway. What I knew is that I was desperate for someone to help me and probably pretty close to being thrown into a mental hospital by anyone with the authority to do that, likely my husband at the time. He instead became an initiate a couple of years after me, as did each of my three children.

            Kathy was…amazing at everything really. I have never met anyone close to Her, although I now know from years and years of meditating that She was one of the highest Masters to come to this existence to initiate Her flock. She painted the most amazing paintings of inner regions, wrote myriad books, circulars, and letters to all of us. She was a musical genius and you can hear some of Her music on YouTube ((228) Azurine Highlander - YouTube). She had a medical PhD, loved physics, birds, and all of us. Especially all of us – Her initiates. “There was an old woman who lived in a shoe…” She used to say when one of us was acting like a child to get Her attention. And we all did. Even a glance from Her felt triumphant, leaving the heart to skip a few beats and could (and did) leave people stunned into blissful silence. I have heard many stories of visions people had when they were with Her. Recently one initiate told me that they never remembered anything She said during interviews because all they could see was the room full of brilliant white light.

            She left Her mortal coil on October 16, 2017 and I have felt like I have been in a huge wave that is tumbling to shore, unable to catch a breath, ever since. The first year was completely unimaginable. My pain was palpable and constantly present. I could not bear to be around any people and got an apartment in Sausalito for the year to try to come to terms with all of it. And in Her way, She has eased my pain and let me know that She is as present as ever.

            Still…I miss everything. Miss the smell of Her hair (like fresh wind outside on a sunny day), the sound of Her laugh (like bells ringing in a small European town on a windy, happy day), and mostly miss our conversations. We all, each one, believed ourselves to be Her favorite. She was like that. Every single person that came near to Her felt completely seen and heard. There were miracles too, a lot of them, although She never liked anyone to speak of it.

            I long for the day when I will be completely reunited with Her and until then, I will try my best to honor Her in any way possible. This website, blog, podcasts, books are my small contribution and I hope to interview some amazing friends on the podcast who are doing beautiful things in the world.
